Everyone’s experiences, challenges, and emotions are unique, so the decision to start therapy is deeply personal. If you find yourself feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected from life, therapy can provide the support and tools to help you move forward. It’s especially helpful if stress, relationship struggles, or past experiences are interfering with your well-being.
If you’ve been considering therapy but aren’t sure whether to take the leap, trust that instinct! Exploring your options is the first step toward positive change.

The length of therapy varies from person to person, depending on individual needs, goals, and progress. During your sessions, you and your therapist will work together to set objectives, track your growth, and determine the right timeline for your journey. Some people find short-term therapy helpful for specific concerns, while others benefit from ongoing support over a longer period.

Our online therapy sessions take place on a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform to ensure your privacy and comfort. Before your appointment, you'll receive a link to join the session from your computer, tablet, or smartphone—whichever works best for you. Teletherapy allows you to connect with your therapist from a space where you feel most at ease, making it a convenient and effective way to receive support.

Studies show that virtual therapy is just as effective as in-person sessions, with patient satisfaction depending more on consistency than format. Teletherapy makes it easier to attend sessions regularly and can be a great fit for most mental health concerns. It’s especially helpful if you have a busy schedule, need flexible options, prefer the comfort of your home, or live in an area with limited access to in-person care.
However, online therapy may not be the best fit for everyone. It is not recommended for individuals recently discharged from inpatient treatment, those experiencing active suicidal thoughts or a history of severe suicidal behavior, individuals with severe dissociation, or those in need of immediate crisis support.

Gold Star Mental Health is a fully virtual practice, providing telehealth services to individuals residing in Utah. Our online sessions offer the same level of connection, support, and effective interventions as in-person therapy, just with the added convenience of fitting seamlessly into your schedule.

For the best experience, we recommend choosing a quiet, private space where you feel comfortable and free from distractions. This could be a home office, bedroom, or any space where you can speak openly without interruptions. Using headphones can also enhance privacy and help you stay engaged in the session.
If you're on the go, sessions can be done in a parked car or another secluded location, as long as it's safe and private. Please note that you must be physically located in the state of Utah during your sessions, as our therapists are only licensed to provide care within the state.
Our priority is ensuring you feel secure and at ease during your therapy experience.
I’d love to show you how therapy can transform your life. It all begins with a single step.
